Biotechnology

1) What is Biotechnology?
- Biotechnology is a technology that involves the use of living organisms.
2) Who would benefit from this technology, and what are the advantages?
- People who would get benefit from biotechnology are disabled people [who are born without a hand], people who involved in accident and lost there hands, or even soldiers who fought for their country and lost their hand.

- The advantages of the biotechnology are that it could help people who lost their hands do things like a normal person. For example, it could help them pick up things, tie their shoes, or even to poke their friends.

3) Is it ethical to replace human body parts with biotechnology?
- I think biotechnology are only needed for certain people.  I think it is not ethical for a normal human to replace their body parts with biotechnology. I think that is not ethical because people who have normal body parts should be happy for having the advantages of using those parts instead of wanting for more and replace it with a biotechnology. I think people should appreciated what they got instead of wanting for more, because many disabled people who wish to be normal like them can't. Although I think that it is not ethical for a normal person to remove their body parts with biotechnology, I think it is very ethical for disabled people or people who lost their body parts to use biotechnology. With biotechnology, their life would be easier and they could come back to doing things that were once can. So, I think biotechnology are only ethical for people who needed it.

Future Technology

I think future technology for homes will have a huge effects on our daily lives, work, family and health. It would make our daily lives easier and more efficient. Instead of having to go to the store to buy food, you could just order it straight from your fridge. Also, you could control most of the house, just by sitting at your seat and press a button. But your family won't be as happy, because people will be very lazy and they will not want to leave the room. Then, it will be hard for your family to sit together to have a talk. I think the future technology could be both good for your health and not. In the future, there will be a clever toilet that could identify your sickness and warn you, that will be good for your health. But then, by sitting in one position and control everything, you will eventually exercise lesser and you will be less healthy. Future technology had good sides and bad sides to it.

Cultural Diversity

What is diversity?
- Diversity is the state of being different from others and a way to define one person to another. There are many facts that could make up diversity.  Some examples of diversity are religions, beliefs, cultures, appearances, languages and  personality.  Nationality doesn't count as one state that could be diversity because you and your neighbor which have the same nationality could be diverse. Diversity happened a lot around the world. Sometimes people don't respect diversity and people that are diverse to them. But in total, respecting diversity is really important. Diversity is really important to each of us because it makes a person stand-out, recognizable and be different from everyone else.

Why it is important to respect diversity?
- Respecting diversity is very important because of many reasons. One of the most important reason is to keep peace. If everyone understand and respect others diversity, there won't be so many wars about misunderstanding from different view of beliefs. This world would be a more peaceful place to live in, it also help the nations reduce the money using for war, you could reduce the amount of time you waste too. All those things would save up to a better future. Also, if you respect others diversity, the world could cooperate. Cooperation will make a very change to every single one of us. If one country needs help, others support and then when it time to help back, others will also helped them. I think respecting diversity will help the world we are living becoming a better place.

Tet Homework

I chose the topic "Grammy Awards 2011" for my Tet homework. The first version is from a newspaper called Muc Tim, and the other version is from a site called http://music.msn.com/grammy/

Similarities
- They both give the readers information about who is going to perform and got nominated at the Grammy in 2011.
- They both have colorful pictures related to the topic.
- They both don't have the dates that the news was submitted.

Differences
- The newspaper has a writer name while the internet one doesn't.
- The internet versions have links that you could click in and know more information about certain topics while the newspaper version you could just read what they already have.
- The internet ones have more images that are related to it than the newspaper.

Question 2:
For me, these features could change the readers mind, firstly, the newspaper one has a writer's name so you could know who the writer was. That feature could help the reader have more trust in the news they are reading. That could give the readers a little reliability and worthiness for the newspapers. On the other hand, for the internet one, the pictures that they had could give the readers more trust that they know a lot of right information about the topics.
Both of the news have features that could give the readers trust in the newspaper. The trustworthiness now depends on the reader if whether they have enough trust for each one.

(P.S: I did my homework for Tet but I accidentally post it on the blog for Ms.Patrice's class)
